Obama will not bring real change; the Democrats will not bring real change; the Republicans will not bring real change – because they are all the same. Their differences are all smoke and mirrors – which is why they spend so much of their time name-calling. What will bring real change is the blood of those who have taken our government from us running in the streets.

I know, it’s not a very anarcho-capitalist thing to say but even Murray Rothbard admitted that the American Revolution was justifiable.

“Revolutionary war is a war against the state apparatus, a war from below by the armed public. It doesn’t have to injure innocent civilians, and it usually doesn’t. It often does not involve taxes or conscription– if it does, it does so on a very small scale.” Murray Rothbard

Our country is run by corporate statists and their lackeys. It’s time to take it back. I hope you’ll remember that come Election Day.

So yesterday I wrote about the dangers of allowing ideologues to run your political party. To help me out a little bit Michael Steele, of the RNC, gave a speech in which he said,

“Now all of a sudden I’ve got someone who wasn’t a spouse before, that I had no responsibility for, who is now getting claimed as a spouse that I now have financial responsibility for,” Steele told Republicans at the state convention in traditionally conservative Georgia. “So how do I pay for that? Who pays for that? You just cost me money.”

What he was talking about was gay marriage and I assume that he’s talking about some fictional small business owner but it’s so obtuse that I’m not really sure what he means. However, if you read it as it stands it applies to hetero marriage to, doesn’t it? So are the Republicans now so opposed to gay marriage that they’re willing to do away with their precious family values to stop it? It also shows the sort of disconnect that the professional ruling class has with real people. I don’t remember ever working anyplace that paid for the insurance for my spouse or children. Most of them don’t fully cover the employee anymore but you might now know that if you’ve spent you entire adult life feeding at the public trough.

Of course, Steele isn’t known for his clever analogies either since he claimed that the refutation of global warming is that Greenland was called Greenland for a reason. Which it was…. it was Erik the Red’s own personal marketing campaign. FWIW, I’m not sold on the whole global warming thing but that’s just stupid.

At any rate, as far as gay marriage goes, I don;t really understand why they’d want to but as far as I’m concerned there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be as miserable as they people who haven’t gotten divorced yet.

So the House of Representatives passed a bill that would tax the shit out of the AIG bonuses. A similiar bill has been introduced in the Senate. My question is this: The House bill was passed 328-93. The vote breakdown was 243 democrats and 85 republicans in favor and 6 democrats and 87 republicans opposed. I understand that the republicans want to know why these bonuses weren’t stopped before the money was paid out but exactly what is the purpose of 87 of them voting against getting the money back now? If a mistake was made in paying it out, by all means point it out, but don’t then vote to let them keep it.

My personal opinion is that none of this outrage would be taking place at all in Washington if word hadn’t gotten out and the future ditch fodder from Washington weren’t worried about having to find real work at the end of their term.
